Lattice’s certification reflects a commitment to responsible operations across The Partner Companies.
Lattice Materials (Lattice), a Bozeman-based custom infrared optics and materials manufacturer and part of The Partner Companies (TPC), today announced it has achieved the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) certification, meeting the internationally recognized standard for how organizations manage their environmental performance. Lattice earned the certification working with third-party environmental consultant Aquionix, with the certificate issued to the ISO 14001:2015 edition of the standard.
This certification reflects the continued investment in Lattice’s manufacturing processes to meet increasing demand for silicon and germanium optical components. It formalizes how the company identifies and reduces the environmental impact of its operations across its crystal growth, machining and precision optics work. Lattice has set operational targets for 2026 and 2027 that include a 50% reduction in energy used per gram produced, a 25% reduction in water used per gram produced and a 20% increase in germanium cuttings recovered for reuse.
As environmental standards are increasingly built into vendor qualifications, the certification supports consistent quality outcomes and gives customers independent assurance that responsibility is built into how Lattice operates.
The systems behind the certification also lay groundwork for Lattice’s next phase of growth. In April 2026, the company held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 80,000-square-foot facility in Bozeman that will feature recycling processes to turn scrap into new seed crystals, stretching germanium and silicon and reducing dependence on imported raw materials. Lattice is pursuing LEED Silver certification for this new facility, and an established environmental management framework positions it to carry those standards into expanded operations from day one.
