Lattice Materials (Lattice), a Bozeman-based custom infrared optics and materials manufacturer and part of The Partner Companies (TPC), today announced it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2. This milestone underscores the company’s dedication to maintaining strong cybersecurity practices in alignment with the U.S. Department of War (DoW) standards. Lattice earned the certification working with CMMC consultant Virtruv.
As a critical supplier to defense and aerospace programs, Lattice’s certification reinforces the security and reliability of the systems it supports. The company is among the few manufacturers capable of producing precision parts from custom-grown and machined silicon and germanium. These materials are essential to infrared optics, satellite payloads and thermal imaging systems. This certification further supports national efforts to bolster U.S. manufacturing and supply chain resilience.
CMMC Level 2 certification confirms Lattice complies with all 110 security controls defined in federal standard NIST SP 800-171, which governs the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The certification, granted after an independent assessment by Forvis Mazars, an accredited Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO), demonstrates the company’s ability to safeguard sensitive data and operate securely within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

The certification supports Lattice’s growth as it scales to meet growing demand for secure, domestic sources of infrared optical components. In April 2026, the company broke ground on a new 80,000-square-foot facility in Bozeman that will expand domestic production of silicon and germanium and reduce dependence on imported raw materials. Lattice also recently achieved ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification, meeting the internationally recognized standard for how organizations manage their environmental performance.
